Administrative Assistant (NOC 13110) Dollar Store Salmon Arm Dollar Store is a popular grocery store in Salmon Arm. Our store sells a variety of quality discount merchandise. We are looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant as our key management team member. The successful candidate will create a brighter future for our company. Job title: Administrative Assistant Salary$27/ hour Work hours: 30-40 hours per week Location: Salmon Arm, BC Start date: As soon as possible Working Schedule: Early Morning, evening, weekend, holiday and overtime required Term of employment: This is an indeterminate full-time position Language: English Responsibilities: Prepare, enter, edit, and proofread various daily business documents, including letters, invoices, purchase orders, inventory records, reports, and other administrative materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Receive, organize, and distribute incoming physical mail, emails, and other business documents, and coordinate internal communication within the store as well as with suppliers and customers. Answer telephone calls and respond to email inquiries, handle routine communication with customers, suppliers, and business partners, and relay relevant information and messages. Assist in processing supplier orders, purchase documents, and receiving records to ensure timely product replenishment, and follow up on inventory restocking and inventory reports. Responsible for ordering office supplies and certain store operational materials, and maintaining related inventory records to ensure smooth daily operations. Establish and maintain both manual and electronic filing systems, including procurement documents, supplier records, customer files, and daily operational documents. Collect and organize sales data, inventory data, and other business statistics to support store operational analysis and management decision-making. Assist in scheduling and confirming appointments and meetings for the employer and store management, and record meeting minutes when required. Receive visitors, including suppliers, customers, and business partners, determine the purpose of their visit, and direct them to the appropriate person. Assist in developing and improving office and store administrative procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Organize and maintain important store documents, including business licenses, lease agreements, insurance documents, and other key records. Assist in preparing documents for government inspections, business license renewals, and other compliance-related requirements to ensure continuous store operation. Assist in organizing internal store meetings and daily operational arrangements to support overall business operations. Experience and specialization Point of sale system Electronic scheduler Accounting software Electronic mail Job requirements Education Completion of a college program for administrative assistants or secretaries is required. Experience At least one year of experience in secretaries or previous clerical role. Skills Ability to work independently and support store management in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prepare correspondence, invoices, reports and other business documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of inventory, point-of-sale or basic accounting software. Strong organizational, time-management and multitasking abilities. Ability to handle confidential business and employee information. Ability to maintain electronic and paper filing systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
