Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Work Location: Private residence, Edmonton, Alberta Position: Live-in Caregiver Accommodation: Room and board provided Job Description We are seeking a dedicated, flexible, compassionate, and caring female live-in caregiver to look after our elderly parents, who have disabilities and chronic illnesses. The successful candidate must be dependable, patient, and committed to providing quality personal care and companionship. This is a live-in position requiring the caregiver to reside in the family home and be available on an on-call basis outside regular working hours, as needed. Room and board will be provided. Education and Experience • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience. • 1 to less than 7 months of relevant caregiving experience. Main Duties and Responsibilities • Administer bedside and personal care. • Administer medications as directed. • Assist clients with bathing and personal hygiene. • Assist with regular physical activities, including walking and exercise. • Feed or assist clients with feeding when necessary. • Prepare and serve nutritious meals. • Cook meals according to dietary requirements. • Launder clothing and household linens. • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. • Provide companionship and emotional support. • Assist with daily personal care and living activities. Certificates and Qualifications • First Aid Certificate. • CPR Certificate. Experience and Specialization • Experience caring for elderly individuals. • Experience assisting persons with disabilities. • Experience supporting individuals with chronic illnesses is an asset. Security and Safety Requirements • Criminal record check. • Vulnerable Sector Check. • Immunization records. Transportation • Public transportation is available. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel. • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking. • Physically demanding work. • Repetitive tasks. • Ability to stand for extended periods. • Ability to work under pressure. • Ability to handle weights between 61 and 80 kg (133–176 lbs).
