# Cook – Full-Time / Permanent **Mikaku Japanese Restaurant** **Location:** 6024 48 Avenue, Camrose, Alberta T4V 0K3 **Position:** Cook (NOC 63200) **Number of Vacancies:** 1 **Employment Type:** Permanent, Full-time **Wage:** $18.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications **Working Hours:** 30–40 hours per week **Work Location:** On-site **Language:** English **Schedule:** Morning, day, evening and weekend shifts ### Job Description Mikaku Japanese Restaurant in Camrose, Alberta, is looking for a reliable and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook Japanese dishes, maintain food quality and sanitation standards, and support daily kitchen operations. ### Key Responsibilities - Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes and Japanese menu items. - Inspect kitchen and food preparation areas to maintain cleanliness and food safety standards. - Train kitchen staff in food preparation and safe food handling procedures. - Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas. - Manage daily kitchen operations and organize food preparation activities. - Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion sizes. - Follow established recipes, restaurant procedures and food safety guidelines. - Work cooperatively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service. ### Qualifications and Requirements - Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience. - Minimum 1 year of relevant cooking experience. - Ability to communicate effectively in English. - Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is an asset. - Experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen. - Good organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Dependable, responsible and able to take initiative. - Availability to work mornings, days, evenings and weekends. ### Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities - Fast-paced restaurant environment. - Standing for extended periods. - Physically demanding kitchen work. - Handling and lifting kitchen supplies and equipment. - Attention to detail and commitment to food quality. ### Compensation and Employment Details - $18.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. - Permanent, full-time employment. - 30–40 working hours per week. - One Cook position available. - Start date: As soon as possible, subject to any required work authorization. ### How to Apply Please email your resume and a brief summary of your relevant cooking experience to: **mikakujapaneserestaurant@gmail.com** We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, including newcomers to Canada.
