Company name: Foy Tree Care Business address: 5328 Calgary Trail NW, Edmonton, AB T6H 4J8 Location of work: Locations in and around the Edmonton, AB area Title of position: Climbing Arborist Positions available: 2 Job duties: - Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removals while utilizing proper climbing and rigging techniques - Safely operate chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and other forestry equipment - Assess job sites to identify hazards and determine safest way to execute required tasks - Work efficiently in a crew, communicating with team members and team lead about tasks and expected workflow - Maintain gear and equipment according to company standards - Additional duties may sometimes be required, as directed by company management Terms of employment: Temporary, seasonal position with contract length between 4 and 8 months (work season between April and November); approximately 40 hours per week, 5 work days per week, daytime shifts Wage: $38.00-45.00/hour, based on experience and training How to apply: Phone: 780-885-4633 E-mail: foytreecare@gmail.com Education required: Completion of high school is required. Completion of post-secondary training in arboriculture/horticulture (or related fields) may substitute for required work experience. Completion of International Society of Arboriculture certification, or actively pursuing this qualification, is required. Work experience required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in arboriculture settings, especially related to climbing and working at heights. Skill requirements: Must have class 5 driver's license to drive equipment between worksites. Experience towing trailers is a significant asset. Must be able to work safely at heights, and have experience required for working at heights in these conditions; must have strong physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks and be able to list at least 50 pounds. Certification to apply pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides may be required for the position, but not required before hiring. Strong understanding of tree biology, species identification, and common pests and diseases is required. Language requirements: Fluent communication in English is required for the position.
