Q Farm located in Clear Creek, ON is seeking an experienced and dedicated FARM OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR to oversee the daily management of our livestock and poultry operations. The successful candidate will lead hands-on barn and animal care activities, ensure the health and welfare of our sheep, goats, lambs, and poultry, and maintain the high standards required for a productive, non-grazing farm environment. Duties and Responsibilities • Supervise and coordinate daily farm operations including feeding, watering, animal health monitoring, and barn sanitation for sheep, goats, lambs, and poultry • Manage structured, non-grazing feeding programs by delivering precise rations of hay, grain, and minerals to feed bunks based on each animal's production stage (pregnant, lactating, or growing) • Perform and oversee daily feed bunk cleaning to prevent spoilage and ensure equal feed access for all animals • Monitor and manage intensive lambing and kidding cycles, including individual lambing pen (jug) setup, bonding supervision, and nursing support for ewes and does • Carry out ear tagging, birth weight recording, and accurate flock productivity record-keeping • Maintain barn environment by ensuring bedding (straw/shavings) is kept dry, clean, and fresh on a daily and weekly basis to prevent ammonia buildup and support animal health • Monitor and adjust barn ventilation and airflow to maintain optimal respiratory conditions for housed animals • Oversee and coordinate the farm's breeding programs for sheep, goats, and poultry, including monitoring reproductive cycles, scheduling lambing and kidding periods, and tracking outcomes • Implement, and enforce farm safety, food safety, and bio-security protocols across all barn and animal handling areas • Conduct daily herd health checks to promptly identify signs of illness in close-quartered housing conditions • Administer routine vaccinations, parasite control treatments, and coordinate a regular hoof-trimming schedule • Manage layer chicken and meat chicken operations, including daily feeding, watering, and nesting box maintenance • Plan and estimate labour and supply requirements; requisition materials as needed • Prepare and submit operational reports; resolve work-related problems as they arise • Coordinate and communicate activities with other farm staff and departments Requirements Education: • Completion of secondary school is required Experience: • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in livestock or mixed farm operations is required • Hands-on experience with sheep, goat, or lambing management is strongly preferred Skills and Attributes: • Demonstrated knowledge of livestock husbandry, animal health practices, and barn management in a non-grazing system • Familiarity with poultry care (layers and meat birds) is an asset • Strong record-keeping skills and attention to detail, particularly for lambing and breeding data • Ability to manage and motivate a team in a physically demanding, fast-paced farm environment • Fluency in English with strong communication skills suited to a multi-cultural workplace • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills Wage and Benefits • Wage: $22 per hour • Hours: 40 hours per week • This is a full-time, permanent position • On site housing available.
