Sign Installer (NOC 73200 – Residential and Commercial Installers and Servicers) Capital City Signs Ltd. Capital City Signs Ltd. is seeking an experienced and motivated Sign Installer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, servicing, and maintenance of commercial signage and related prefabricated products at various customer locations throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas. Position Details ?Position: Sign Installer (NOC 73200) ?Location: 20103 107 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5S 1W4 ?Work Location: On the road (travel to various customer sites is required) ?Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time ?Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week ?Wage: $36.00 per hour ?Start Date: As soon as possible Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to: ?Install exterior prefabricated products, including commercial signs, monument signs, pylon signs, channel letters, wall signs, billboards, and related structures. ?Install interior prefabricated products, including lobby signs, dimensional lettering, directory signs, wall graphics, and architectural signage. ?Read blueprints, drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and work orders to determine work requirements and installation methods. ?Determine layout and installation procedures based on project specifications and site conditions. ?Measure, mark, level, and verify guidelines to ensure accurate positioning and alignment during installations. ?Repair and service exterior prefabricated products, including replacing damaged components and performing maintenance as required. ?Repair and service interior prefabricated products to maintain proper appearance and functionality. ?Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete installation and repair work. ?Erect, inspect, and dismantle scaffolding, falsework, ladders, lifts, and other working platforms required to safely perform installations. ?Assemble and install mounting hardware, brackets, frames, anchors, and support systems for signage products. ?Install and service awnings and billboard components where required. ?Load, unload, transport, and safely handle signage materials, equipment, and tools to and from job sites. ?Work outdoors and at heights while complying with all workplace safety procedures and company policies. ?Inspect completed installations to ensure proper alignment, secure fastening, structural integrity, and compliance with customer specifications. ?Troubleshoot installation issues and perform adjustments to ensure quality workmanship. ?Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at customer sites and company facilities. ?Coordinate with supervisors and project managers to ensure installations are completed efficiently and on schedule. ?Follow Occupational Health and Safety requirements, including Working at Heights, WHMIS, and Fall Arrest procedures. Qualifications ?Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. ?Minimum two (2) years of directly related experience in commercial sign installation is mandatory. ?Experience installing, repairing, or servicing commercial signs, awnings, billboards, or other prefabricated products. ?Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. ?Experience using hand tools and power tools in a construction or signage installation environment. ?Valid driver's licence. ?Working at Heights Training. ?Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. ?Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. ?Ability to work outdoors and at heights in varying weather conditions. ?Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 45 kg (100 lbs). ?Must possess steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, gloves, and personal tools. Experience Requirement Commercial signage installation is a specialized occupation requiring technical knowledge, precision, and practical experience. The position involves installing high-value signage products on commercial properties, frequently working at heights and using specialized equipment. Improper installation can damage signage, customer property, and building structures while creating significant safety risks. Accordingly, a minimum of two (2) years of direct experience in the commercial signage installation industry is an essential requirement. The successful candidate must be capable of independently interpreting installation drawings, determining installation procedures, safely operating equipment, and completing projects with minimal supervision while maintaining the employer's quality and safety standards.
