Job Description

Halibut House Fish & Chips is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Restaurant Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our restaurant. The successful candidate will assist in managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and supporting business growth while upholding food safety and health standards. Key Responsibilities but not Limited to: Assist in planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating restaurant operations. Help determine service standards and implement operational policies and procedures. Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate restaurant staff. Prepare staff schedules and monitor employee performance. Ensure high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction. Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering food, beverages, and restaurant supplies. Control costs, monitor revenues, and recommend improvements to operational procedures. Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to maintain adequate inventory and quality standards. Assist with catering orders, special events, banquets, and private functions as required. Support marketing and promotional initiatives to enhance customer engagement and sales. Maintain accurate records related to staffing, inventory, and restaurant operations. Qualifications A bachelor degree is required. Previous experience in the food service industry is required. Supervisory or management experience in a restaurant setting. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements. Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications is an asset. Assets:Working in a fast food restaurant similar to Fish and chips would be an asset. Food Handler certificate Training from Smart serve Post secondary education in Hotel management Work Conditions Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
