Job Requirements • Education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent • Experience: Minimum 1 year of retail experience in hardware, building materials, or a related field. Supervisory or team lead experience is an asset. • Language: English (oral and written) • Other Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to train staff and ensure excellent customer service. ________________________________________ Responsibilities • Supervise and coordinate the activities of sales staff in the building materials and retail floor departments. • Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules. • Authorize payments, returns, and exchanges as per company policies. • Train and mentor new staff members on sales techniques, customer service standards, and safety procedures. • Resolve customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction. • Maintain inventory levels and place orders for stock when needed. • Ensure compliance with store policies, safety regulations, and merchandising standards. • Assist in hiring and performance evaluation of staff. • Promote sales, upsell products, and support long-term customer relationships. ________________________________________ Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities • Fast-paced retail environment. • Standing and walking for extended periods. • Some lifting required (up to 50 lbs). ________________________________________ Work Setting • Building materials and hardware retail store. • In-person, at Barrhead Home Hardware Building Centre, Barrhead, Alberta.
