Job Description Wonderworld Montessori Academy-Metrotown: We offer an authentic AMI Montessori Program practicing the core values and methods following Maria Montessori’s pedagogy. We strive to build an inclusive working environment and a long-standing supportive community for our staff, parents, and children. Wonderworld Montessori Academy has two locations: in Metrotown Burnaby and Kerrisdale Vancouver areas. Our Metrotown Burnaby location has a facility area of 13,948 sq. ft. in total capable of hosting 161 children and 30 full-time employees at full capacity. We are currently seeking enthusiastic Montessori Head Teacher for Primary classrooms at our Metrotown Burnaby location for full time (34 hr/week). Duties and Responsibilities - Be professionally prepared as a teacher of young children - Provide a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for children - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the classrooms - Ability to communicate with students, parents, staff, and administration - Be fully aware of all licensing requirements and be prepared to implement and follow through - Have adequate knowledge of the basic operational requirements & policies as described by Licensing - Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively in a group setting. Work with staff to develop the potentialities of the children in the group. Bring to the attention of adjustment problems, such as difficulty of separation from the home and inability to adapt to a group situation. - Be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to children, parents, coworkers, volunteers and other professionals and agencies. - Be able to lead circle time, arts and craft times, etc. - supervise all activities to ensure safety of each child at all times - being of the children at all times being alert for the needs and / or problems of the children as individuals and as a group. - supervise all 4 infancy classrooms teachers. - provide Pro-D training for all infancy Montessori teachers QUALIFICATIONS: · Must have ECE license · AMI Primary Teacher Training diploma is required · AMI Infancy Teacher Training diploma is required · Minimum 6+ month of experience in Montessori classroom is required · Current First Aid Certificate · Current Criminal Record Check A successful candidate must meet the following criteria: · A warm, friendly, and calm disposition · Caring and attentive to children · Able to actively support and coordinate with the guide · Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork · Highly organized, detail orientated, and observant · Display accountability and with a good work ethic Additional Skills: · Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers · Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties · Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records · Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children · Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours · Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants · Manage before and after school programs BENEFITS: For employee benefits, WMA will adopt the following policies: · Competitive Salary, 65000/year at 34hours/week · Extended medical and dental benefits · Offer AMI professional training refresh programs for all employees Job Type: Full-time Projected start date: as soon as possible For more information about our school, please visit the website: https://wonderworldmontessori.ca/.
