Work site environment Noisy At heights Dusty Hot Outdoors Work setting Remote location Responsibilities Tasks Determine materials required Lay out reference points and patterns Study engineering drawings and blueprints Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures Weld or bolt sections together Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines Construct patterns and templates Install fabricated components in final product Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite Experience and specialization Welding techniques MIG TIG Plasma ARC ARC spot Flux core arc welding (FCAW) Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) Equipment and machinery experience Brakes and presses Cutting torches Drills Grinder Shears Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines AutoCAD Saws Area of specialization Structural metal or steel Platework Additional information Transportation/travel information Willing to travel Work conditions and physical capabilities Physically demanding Manual dexterity Hand-eye co-ordination Combination of sitting, standing, walking Attention to detail Fast-paced environment Overtime required Benefits Other benefits Free parking available
