Job Description
Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Adapt the curriculum to meet the unique learning needs of students with special needs. Use various teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning. Offer one-on-one support to students who require extra assistance. Implement accommodations and modifications to help students access the curriculum. Utilize assistive technology to support students with special needs. Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Provide behavioral support and strategies to help students manage their behavior. Organize the classroom to meet the needs of students with special needs. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and needs. Collaborate with other teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive support system. Participate in IEP meetings to discuss student progress and develop strategies. Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Regularly monitor student progress and adjust IEPs as needed. Staying Current on Best Practices: Stay up-to-date on best practices and research-based strategies in special education. Collaborate with support staff, such as occupational therapists and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive support.
