Job Description
Experience in teaching young students. Especially teenagers aged 13-19 years. Being able to teach students at various levels of the spectrum, from minor to medium-level challenges. Teaching young students is essential. The job requires making lesson plans, understanding of Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum expectations, planning and developing activities, understanding of assessment/evaluation as per Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum expectations, understanding of “Growing Success in Ontario schools”, etc. Experience in adapting curriculum expectations to make the required accommodations. Developing assessments/evaluation using various psychological and pedagogical tools to arrive an accurate level of learning for and as learning. Minimum one year of experience to be considered, though 4-5 years of experience is preferred. Other qualities Enthusiastic as an educationist of young students with a variety of learning challenges and able to positively engage the young learners in learning in an “interesting environment” to keep the learners engaged. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in any related social science field or special education, or linguistics. A diploma in special education is preferred.
