Job details • Location: 252 Clarence Street, Brampton, ON, L6W 1T4 • Work location: On site • Salary: 36.00 hourly / 30 hours per week • Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time • Flexible hours • Starts as soon as possible • Vacancies: 1 vacancy Overview Languages English Education • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience 2 years to less than 3 years On site Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Responsibilities Tasks • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions • Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy • Drive lighter, special purpose trucks • Load and unload goods • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment • Pay and receive payments for goods • Perform brake adjustments • Perform emergency roadside repairs • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle • Perform preventive maintenance • Receive and relay information to central dispatch • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo • Transport and handle dangerous goods Who can apply for this job?
