Job Description

OmniPet Nutrition Inc. is looking for a Plant Maintenance Worker (NOC- 73201) at our pet food processing plant at 3120 McCallum Road, Abbotsford, BC where we process, produce; package and ship dry pet food to the domestic market as well as export to over 20 countries. Omnipet Nutrition is western Canada’s largest contract manufacturer of private label pet food company. Our 24 hours, 7-day operation provides a variety of shifts. Main duties include: • Make adjustments and minor repairs to packaging machines, mixers, ventilating etc. and contact tradespersons for major repairs • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs • perform other routine maintenance jobs such as machine cleanings, painting and other building maintenance related repairs • maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and make minor purchases as required • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse • respond to machine blockages, and requests from production workers for minor issues or repairs • Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings • perform daily inspections on the building including, outside yards, washrooms, lunch room and packaging machine systems • provide general assistance to skilled trade persons such as mechanics, electricians, carpenters and plumbers • Ensure that security and safety measures are in place by cleaning and maintaining the work area • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas • May move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies • May supervise other workers. Terms of Employment: This position is full-time (40 hours per week), may require overtime Language: Knowledge of the English language may assist Wages: $26.50- $27.50/hr (Annual salary Approximately $55,125) Vacancies: 2 Benefits: Vacation pay, paid sick leave, WCB coverage at work, basic medical coverage (all other benefits according to BC Employment Standards Act will be provided) Education: No formal education Experience: 1-2 years related experience an asset.
