Early Childhood Supervisor IC Early Learning Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Early Childhood Supervisor for our Morley location (7726 Morley Ave, Burnaby, BC V5E 2K5). The ideal candidate will possess a current ECE or ECE IT certificate valid for practice in British Columbia and demonstrate strong leadership skills, with proven experience and capability in supervising and supporting a team of ECE professionals. Job Summary • Position Title: Early Childhood Supervisor (NOC 42202) • Positions Available: 1 • Starting Date: As soon as possible • Work Schedule: 30-40 hours per week • Wage: $36.60 per hour • Benefits: 10 days paid vacation per year; extended health insurance • Position Type: Permanent, full time • Required Language: English Job Duties & Responsibilities • Uphold and implement IC Early Learning Center’s philosophy and guidance methods, ensuring all staff follow these principles in daily operations. • Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators in the creation and delivery of childcare programs for children aged 10 months to 5 years, fostering a collaborative and high-quality learning environment. • Plan, organize, and oversee activities that promote children’s physical, mental, and social development, ensuring all programming is age-appropriate for infants and toddlers. • Supervise and guide the execution of interactive educational activities, including physical games, storytelling, performances, singing, and art projects, while modeling best practices for staff. • Ensure all children are treated with respect and that programs are tailored to meet their developmental needs, while monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness. • Oversee daily routines and staff shift schedules, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with licensing requirements. • Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding their children’s progress, well-being, and any concerns, and support staff in parent engagement. • Provide guidance and training to staff on teaching proper eating, social, and toilet habits to children, ensuring consistency across classrooms. • Monitor and maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for children and staff, conducting regular checks and implementing improvements as needed. • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children by enforcing policies, conducting risk assessments, and responding to emergencies. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of program requirements and child-to-staff ratios ensuring all staff adhere to these standards. • Order equipment and supplies when needed.
