WANTED: CONSTRUCTION WORKERS Employer: Sawled Construction Inc Location: 7764 Cameron Road, Cranbrook, BC V1C 7B1 Workplace information: On site Salary: $24.00 hourly / 40.00 hours per week Terms of employment: Permanent employment and Full time; schedules may vary and may be during day, early morning, evening, morning, night, weekend and holidays; overtime may be required; may be called to cover shifts Starts: as soon as possible Benefits: WCB Vacancies: 2 Languages: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year On site, work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Work site environment: • Outdoors • Noisy • Dusty: • Hot Work setting: urban and rural areas, construction site, various locations Tasks: • Load, unload and transport construction materials • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades • Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs • Level earth to fine grade specifications • Pave and rake asphalt • Assist in demolishing buildings • Clean and pile salvaged materials • Perform routine maintenance work • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction • Direct traffic at or near construction sites Equipment and machinery experience: • Air guns • Nail guns • Drills • Sledgehammer • Hand tools Construction specialization: industrial, commercial and institutional; residential Security and safety: basic criminal record check Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available Work conditions and physical capabilities • Fast-paced environment • Work under pressure • Physically demanding • Tight deadlines • Manual dexterity • Repetitive tasks • Handling heavy loads • Attention to detail • Hand-eye co-ordination • Overtime required • Sound discrimination Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs) Personal suitability: • Accurate • Client focus • Dependability • Efficient interpersonal skills • Excellent oral communication • Flexibility • Reliability • Team player • Hardworking You can apply if you are: • a Canadian citizen • a permanent resident of Canada • a temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit • Do not apply if you are not authorized to work in Canada.
