WANTED: CABINETMAKER Employer: Liber Design Ltd. Location: D-3518 62 Ave SE Calgary, AB T2C 1Z8 Workplace information: On site Salary: $36.50 hourly / 40 hours per Week Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time Working hours: Day, Evening, Flexible Hours, Morning, Night, On Call, Overtime, Shift, Weekend Starts as soon as possible Benefits: Other benefits Vacancies: 1 Languages: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Work site environment: • Non-smoking • Work setting • Custom cabinet shop • Residential • Commercial • Responsibilities Tasks • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components • Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files. • Instruct apprentices • Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics • Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products • Maintain clean and safe work environment • Estimate costs and materials • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products • Coordinate work activities to ensure commercial or residential projects meet requirements, budget and deadlines properties Area of specialization: Cabinets, Built-in units, Furniture, Doors and door frames, Furniture and cabinet remodeling, Kitchen cabinets and vanities Security and safety: Basic criminal record check Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available Work conditions and physical capabilities: • Fast-paced environment • Manual dexterity • Attention to detail • Standing for extended periods Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs) Personal suitability • Accurate • Efficient interpersonal skills • Excellent oral communication • Organized • Team player • Punctuality Benefits: WCB coverage You can apply if you are: • a Canadian citizen • a permanent resident of Canada • a temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit Do not apply if you are not authorized to work in Canada.
