Retail Butcher Wanted Job Description STEWART DRUGS HANNA (1984) Ltd. o/a Hanna Fresh Market at 610 2 Ave W, Hanna, AB T0J 1P0 is seeking to hire a permanent and full-time Retail Butcher qualified. Please send your resume by e-mail if you are interested. • Position: Retail Butcher • Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent • Compensation: $22.00 per hour • Working hours: 30 hours per week • Benefit: 4% of vacation pay Job Duties • Cut and weigh meat and fish for sale at self-serve counters or on special order from customers • Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish, to prepare meat in cooking form. • Slice and grind meat using a grinder and a slicing machine • Prepare meats, fish, and shellfish for processing, cutting, etc. • Package and price meat products for sale • Make special sausages and slice cooked meats • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, fish, and shellfish products, as well as standard cuts of meat and poultry. • Make standard cuts of meat from carcasses, sides, and quarters, and remove bones from them • Maintain adequate meat storage in the supermarket • Keep an eye on the food storage conditions on a regular basis. • Assess the cost, product line, and freshness of meat products according to company and customer requirements • Willing to work on weekend or holiday shifts Work Conditions & Skills • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Fast-paced environment, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Attention to detail • Work Location Information: Willing to relocate • Personal Suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Team player, Reliability, Organized, Judgement, Flexibility, Effective interpersonal skills, Dependability Requirements • Completion of secondary school • Min. 2 years of experience as a meat cutter or butcher • Trade certification for meat cutter or completion of related programs is an asset Contact Information • Work Location: 610 2 Ave W, Hanna, AB T0J 1P0 • E-mail: abhannafreshmarket@gmail.com We welcome applicants from underrepresented groups including newcomers, refugee/asylum seekers and/or first nations.
