Location: 6982 143A Street Surrey, BC, V3W 0E3 Salary: $30.00 per hour Vacancy: 3 Start date: As soon as possible Employment groups: Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada, Veterans, Visible minorities, Youth Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time 40 hours per week Employment conditions: Day, Evening, Morning Job requirement: Languages: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Tasks: - Interpreting welding process specifications by reading, interpreting, and following blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products on-site. - Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc welding and shielded metal arc welding. - Utilize manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment and welding tools/techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding to create strong and durable bonds between metal parts. - Inspect welds to ensure they meet the standards and specifications of the projects undertaken by ensuring quality and integrity. - Weld or join metal and other materials into a wide range of structures, cutting materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses, and operating brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, torch-straightening metal, and bending machines. - Inspect and test welds with precision measuring instruments, using computer-aided design (CAD) structures, and following engineering plans, drawings, and instructions. - Maintain a clean and safe work area; perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures of the company. - Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment. Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods, continually evaluating weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times. - Work on construction sites or various locations as part of our mobile welding services, equipped with all necessary tools and safety equipment. - Utilize handheld tools such as screw guns, drill guns, and grinders; operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tools. - Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards; identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified. - Rework and repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes. - Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff. - Wear safety clothing and use protective equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas.
