Prepare and cook a variety of complete meals, individual dishes, and foods according to recipes and instructions. Maintain accurate inventory and records of food, supplies, and kitchen equipment. Assist the chef in preparing special meals as directed, ensuring they meet quality and presentation standards. Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers, providing guidance and support during food preparation. Plan menus, determine portion sizes, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor supply levels. Manage and oversee kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to food safety standards. Set up and oversee buffet arrangements for events or special occasions as needed. Clean and maintain the kitchen and work area to uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards. Take responsibility for hiring and training new kitchen staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills for their roles.
